Engineering Buyer,

A prominent leader in the design and manufacturing of conveying and processing systems for the food industry is seeking a skilled Engineering Buyer, to play a pivotal role in their thriving business.

Responsibilities:

Procurement Expertise: Negotiate prices and secure discounts, placing and tracking purchase orders for various aspects of our operations, including raw materials, components, and electrical control gear.

Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels by meticulously assessing physical stock levels, re-order points, and quantities. Collaborate with our stores team to resolve stock discrepancies.

On-time Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of equipment by staying updated on manufacturing project statuses, identifying bottlenecks, and expediting purchases as needed.

Cost Efficiency: Obtain competitive quotes, negotiate prices, and secure necessary approvals for high-value orders.

Database Management: Maintain a comprehensive and accurate parts database, including meaningful descriptions, order acknowledgments, and supplier information. Keep costs up-to-date and clear old orders.

Quality Assurance: Ensure purchase orders meet quality standards and employ appropriate ledger codes. Collaborate with stores and logistics to enhance quality checks.

Attention to Detail: Exhibit high precision and accuracy in all tasks.

Problem-Solving: Possess strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset to anticipate and mitigate challenges.

Time Management: Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Numerical Proficiency: Demonstrate strong numerical skills, including mathematics.

35 hours per week, salaried role no overtime, working hours 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, Starting salary of £29,000
